Hello, I'm new! I am trying to convince my husband to move to Bouquet. It would help if I had a teaching job, we are both professors, I am in law and he is in science. The results of Google Searches only bring up private schools. I would rather be in the public school system. I speak some Spanish, I am in a Spanish course now. If anyone would be kind enough to respond, I greatly appreciate it. Tricia

Private schools will probably be the only thing available to you here and even may be difficult. You will need to know Spanish fluently and have the appropriate visa. . If you have not visited here, please do so before you consider a move. Most of us love it here but volunteer, not try to make a living. The people who are hapiest here do lots of research prior to the move.My intent is not to discourage you but encourage you to do your homework. :)
Good statement.
If in order to support your life here you must earn an income here be sure to have everything lined out prior to committing to the big move.
It stands to reason that if one would like to teach in a foreign country that he/she speaks the local language fluently.
You need to start by doing some research on the type of visa that you would need to get a work permit. If you have a visa that will allow you to work, you will need to be far more explicit about your qualifications. "I am in law and he is in science" probably won't get you a cup of Boquete coffee. But, if he can design a fix for the new canal and you can successfully sue the Italians, you probably can live happily ever after. If all else fails, ask Olga. She knows everything.
Thanks, I will look into the visas. Tricia
