Walter: She explained that a single annual tennis membership is $1800 and a couples' membership $2000 a year but was very clear that we did not need to be members to do the pay and play at $12 per plus tax. Just call the pro shop, reserve a court and as long as court's available arrive and they will let us in through security and we drive to the courts.
Tennis Courts - If tennis is your game, Lucero offers three Classic Clay Courts, the same type of surface used for the French Open. Classic Clay is flexible, comfortable and warm, and can be played on year-round regardless of weather conditions. Lucero offers the only red clay courts in the region.
I posted on ning several months ago about my husband looking for someone to play tennis with and only got one response from a guy who is not coming back to Boquete until the end of the year. I can also play, but we usually don't play games - we just hit the ball to get out and get some exercise and fresh air. I think my husband Curt is also responding.
I'm the guy coming back at the end of the year (early December) and we are coming to stay, Clare and I are both 3.5s and hope we can get a regular group playing, Has anyone checked out the clay courts at Lucero? Two years ago they were offering a $1000 annual family membership for non-residents. Part of the drive there was difficult and I have no idea if intended road improvements occurred.
Hi Bernie and Clare here. We are back and here permanently and play at the 3.5 level. Today, November 16, we drove up to Lucero, and were shown their three red clay courts. Georgina from Lucero told us that we can reserve courts by calling the pro shop and that the cost is $12 per person for about 90 minutes of play. The owner of Lucero paved the road all the way and it's a pleasant and easy drive from Jaramillo Abajo. Took us 34 minutes to drive back from Lucero to Bajo Boquete.
We'd love to play there or at VE which we have done before by asking at their pro shop. If anyone is looking for a couple who enjoy doubles, we'd be delighted.
So, Christina, the Bakers, etc, please just send a friend request and we can exchange emails and try to make some arrangements.

I'd love to play when you return. Unfortunately, I don't have any information about the courts here (including Lucero) since I'm new to the area.
