I know there has been some controversy surrounding our new mobile Vet in Boquete/David but no one can dispute his dedication and heart.
Yesterday a dear friend’s horse became ill. Dr César Mendoza spent 24 hours trying to save this horses life. He arrived in the morning to find the horse had colic. This particular horse had a history of frequent colic events. With each event the colic is more difficult to relieve. He came back several times during the day to check and administer medicine. He took a room in Boquete at a hotel so he could come every several hours during the night. The horse’s health went up and down all night. By morning he seemed to be slightly better but then suddenly just collapsed and died.
I do not know of any other Vet in this area that would do what he did. Several years ago my horse became ill. I called his usual Vet in the morning (a well known Vet in this area), who was too busy to come. By 7:30 at night the vet wouldn’t even answer my phone call. By morning the horse was dead.
What Dr César lacks in experience (because he is a young guy) he makes up for in droves with his concern and dedication to help the animals. Thank you Dr César.

Just curious. Some lights in that Texas A&M degree detective story?
Has anybody tracked down the credentials of all the other vets in Chiriqui? I'll bet not. The work speaks for itself or it doesn't.
Indeed. But you can't just say in there "I'm from Harward" and expect no people' curiosity. Not in Boquete at least.
Anyway, I know somebody with the same name, and he is also a vet, what a coincidence. But I really doubt he had his degree in Texas. Thats why I'm asking.
Dr. Mendoza has the latest knowledge and the latest equipment and he makes house calls He can even do ultrasound scans in your home. He was unable to save our beloved rescue dog, Mouse, but not because he didn't give it his all along with his heart. Two other vets we consulted were unable to diagnose her ailment. Probably it was a failed immune system due to separation from her mother too soon. Yet, she survived for 7 years. She and our other dog, Ginger, appear on this year's FADAB calendar in Nov. We will continue to consult Dr. Mendoza with full faith in his capabilities and integrity.
I like Cesar too. He is a good man and those who choose to make jabs at him are not going to change my mind. He has a big heart and from the amount of work he gets he will build a good practice. Good luck Cesar.
The dog we are caring for got bit by something and within minutes was having difficulty walking and breathing. A call to Dr. Cesar at 7 am and he was there from Boquete to Potrerillos in thirty five minutes. He learned we had administered Benadryl and gave the dog five shots of other medications. He stayed for two hours to see the dog was recovering, devised a plan for additional medication and a detailed plan for administering them that we could understand. Even told us the best place to get these medications. Followed up with later in the day to see there was no relapse. Dr. Cesar saved that critter. His knowledge and care and compassion are what matter to me.
A month later, the other dog we are caring for had a run in with a barbed wire fence and tore open her leg. Again Dr. Mendoza was there in a very short time, calmed her, sewed her up and gave her medications for healing. He has proven himself to us and we will tell everyone we know about what he has done for us.
I think you're out of line accusing someone of not being what they are without proper evidence. using phrases like "to the best of my knowledge" and "He has said that he went to Texas A&M Vet school, but they have no record of him" how do you know? you cant just call texas am and ask for a student's record! and he doesn't owe you anything!
besides, when does everyone have a good experience all the time with someone? never!!! does everyone have a good experience with the same doctor, teacher, hairstylist, laywer? of course not. so get off your high horse about questioning his credentials without proper proof. this is not about you! so you had a bad experience big deal. people die on the operating table all the time. things just happen. he does drive around in a van with his name and number on it, and i don't see other vets denouncing his presence, or the authorities hunting him for practicing without a license. i've never heard of a pet shop refusing to take his prescription because he is not a real vet.
this is boquete. no one ever happy. there is always someone bitching about something.

we had a pup who got tick fever. He was here two days in a row, and gave intensive attention to the dog, with follow up calls as well. We were so pleased to have Dr. Cesar. His english is great as well. He is so busy with the horses, but he makes time to get to the small animals when an emergency arises. We thank Dr, Cesar for being available, and able to come to the house. It is not easy to get a sick animal to a vet office, so his mobile office is a blessing.
So, I was sitting outside of Novey's in David today, waiting for my husband, when I see a mobile vet pull in and park nearby. I immediately am interested, as we are brand new in Panama and have yet to establish veterinary care for our dog. After researching, I was set to go with Happy Pet, as I have read great reviews, but a mobile vet would be wonderful for our situation! We used a mobile vet back home and it really works well for us. Anyway, I jumped out and asked for his card and it was Dr César himself, thankfully speaking English and letting me know he has other clients in La Barqueta. He was very nice and I am so happy to have met him before we need him. We will definitely use him and I am glad to have his contact information!
