THE DARK TRIAD TROLL

This type of troll is often seen on social media.  Very easy to spot.  They usually display the following trifecta of personality traits:  Machiavellianism, narcissism (vulnerable or not) and psychopathy (Factor 1 or Factor 2) or in the vulnerable type, borderline personality disorder. Their game is to shock, provoke and anger people.  They enjoy upsetting others as it makes them feel powerful.  It is a game of one-upmanship for them as they take delight in thinking they are manipulating people without them knowing it.  They usually can be flushed out by hitting a sensitive nerve of theirs - something they cannot tolerate - and they then decompensate or "lose it" (in layman's terms) and reveal their true self.

At times they may bring up an interesting subject which may initiate a good debate among people.  People with time on their hands may enjoy the debate if they don't let the provocation disturb them.  That's the most important thing.  Some do not have the intestinal fortitude for that type of "disagreeableness" and in that case ignoring the dark triad troll is the ONLY solution.  

The dark triad troll can be female or male.  We had an infamous female one on Ning a couple of years back.  There is a dark tetrad troll but this is lengthy enough.  Just be aware.  If anyone thinks they may be one, there are tests to indicate where you are on the continuum.

For all the Madonna haters out there- her's was a message of love, no matter how you try to twist it.

You misogs can try and paint her as a bitch, a dame, a broad, or worse. It only reveals your true colors- white male supremacists.

GMB, Her opening remarks was "Welcome to the revolution of love". The speech was almost entirely about being hopeful and fighting for justice. I will agree the blowing up the White House remark was inappropriate. It wasn't meant to be taken literally. It was an ill-advised statement to illustrate just how angry and frightened these women are. She would be wise to apologize for the remark. The point of her speech was that love is the answer. If people are still offended by a few f-bombs they are living in the wrong century. Sometimes that's what it takes to make a point.

Everybody with a brain (notably his opponents) knew that he was speaking figuratively.

Many Trumplicans evidently either don't know what "figure of speech" means or they don't recognise it when they hear it....

Wish I could oblige but this is for informational purposes only. There should be several types of tests dealing with each particular construct even though they can overlap. An appointment should be made with a professional if someone thinks this describes them. In no way am I referring to you or anyone in particular. I will try your advise to simply ignore him.

I dont think it will work as he feels "forced" to respond all the time.

Than you Jan and Walter for enlightening me on trolldom. I had no idea, but I'm certainly not surprised. It's good to know there is a definition and diagnosis of these dethpicable people. Don't we all wish they'd go away. Through raising hell they were forced off the forum page briefly, but are slowly creeping back in.
