Yesterday, returning from the Tuesday market up El Salto from the bajo Boquete side in the rain I (coming up the right hand side) came around one of many too narrow and blind curves and entering it from the other side was another SAV (suburban assault vehicle) going way too fast and with his left wheels way over the non existent center line. A Ngobe field worker was walking down my side and as he saw the vehicle approaching me, dived, machete in hand, into the ditch beside me, i suspect thinking that if I had to swerve I might hit him. Thankfully all was OK. I turned around in the first driveway, drove back down stopped and asked him how he was fine and we both had a good laugh of relief..
El Salto Rd is getting busier: More construction, fincas expanding greenhouses; new farms with more workers, more traffic, more taxis, more farm and coffee workers walking, and more school kids twice every day.
Please think about it. Too many blind curves, short range visibility. Yesterday we were all lucky.

A person really needs to be in total control of their vehicle and ready to take evasive action at any time, which is difficult when going too fast. Too many people here speed and break other driving laws simply because they can, and with no thought to unintended consequence.
