That says it all. The Art Café is under not-so-new ownership, but it is definitely NOT your ordinary Boquete restaurant.
The owner, Daniel Angelus, has a terrific chef, a great waiter/waitress crew, and the absolutely best partner on Earth. Let me explain.
You may all have heard by now that Janet Lange has married Dario Belenfante. He actually proposed to her on the patio of my home a few weeks ago. Very romantic, to be sure, but suddenly things started to get complicated. Janet and Dario had to go through the typical Panamanian method to be legally married. The part that's important here is the time schedule imposed by this method. Once the paperwork has been issued, the two parties have exactly two weeks to get the nuptials done, else they have to start all over again. And of course, that means paying the fees all over again. Well, my wife Debby and I decided to arrange the wedding reception. We had two weeks, but the date had to be flexible, as it was unknown when Dario and Janet would be able to get the license. The ONLY location that indicated they could accommodate us was The Art Café. Daniel was magnificent. After arranging the appetizers and restaurant setup, he said five to seven days was sufficient notice to get it all done. And the price, well, let's just say it was a good deal and leave it at that. My wife Debby arranged for the band we had playing there, and all the restaurant planning was done by Daniel and Nicole Hart. Ah, Nicole...
She is a former professional nightclub singer in New York City. She is Daniel's partner, and does a fantastic job being the consummate hostess. Oh, did I mention that she is quite beautiful as well? No? Okay, she is quite beautiful as well. Please note - this is not a sexist remark. Nicole is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside, and she sings like ... well, listen to her and you'll see. Just visit http://www/nicolehart.com, sit back, and enjoy. The fact that she has a personality that lights up The Art Café is simply icing on the cake.
The wedding and reception were memorable. (By the way, thanks to ALL who joined us for the celebration.) Jillian Collis graced us with a song, and she has a fantastic voice. Later, Nicole (after some cajoling) agreed to sing for the happy couple. There hasn't been a talent like this in Boquete since, well, since forever. She brought the house down.
The food: excellent.
The band: fantastic.
The entertainment: first class all the way.
The organizers (Mike and Debby): perfection. (What did you expect me to say?)
The ambiance and good feelings: infinite.
It was a beautiful ceremony, a great reception, a great time, just a wonderful afternoon. Thanks to all involved!
Now, go and sample The Art Café. Ask to meet Daniel and/or Nicole. You'll be glad you did.

Mike, Daniel and I are so privileged you and Debby entrusted us to assist you in hosting this beautiful event at the Art Cafe. Thank you for entrusting us - the whole staff worked tirelessly to bring it off so successfully for Janet and Dario, and all the wonderful guests you invited. The dancing at the end of the day was the most fun I've had in a long time!!! We met so many wonderful new friends, including Janet and Dario, and consider you and Debby our dear friends, as well. not sure how NEW it is....I know its different owner from 3-4 yrs ago...is it new since september?
Yes, quite new: my name is Nicole Hart and I recently partnered in business with Daniel Angelus...we have expanded the restaurant from the one salon with 25 seats, to now two salons with 40 seats total, more art, two crystal chandeliers, one of a kind pieces of jewelry, vintage pieces, better lighting, and a romantic bar in the back overlooking the eucalyptus nature reserve...I'd say that's NEW! ;-)
