There was recently a discussion on Ning regarding a person who many people in Boquete believe to be a scam artist operating in Boquete. There were a few people who responded that this person was a nice person and it was suggested that they allow this person to defend themselves. The discussion was subsequently removed by Ning management.
Can we can no longer rely on Ning to inform us of scam artists such as Lee Zeltzer has done in the past on many occasions such as the following?

Obviously the new management is not aware of the history of this individual and has indicated their reservations of allowing posts like this one. Fortunately they also asked for some kind of proof and it was immediately provided. If the criminal charges for fraud against this individual are unfounded then he should come on Ning and dispute those claims. I doubt he will.

Things that were proven of the person in question:
1) They were advertising and offering services in Panama.
2) They arrived in Boquete four days prior to #1 above by their own admission on their blog.
3) They did not posses a Panamanian work permit.
4) They were asking for money on their Gofundme site for basic living and medical expenses.
5) They were documenting on their blog enjoying great meals at restaurants with $18+ entrees which is surprising for someone who was asking for money for basic living and medical expenses.
These were undisputed facts most of which have been removed from the Internet by this person (Gofundme, blogs, etc.).
Were there any victims? They did collect money on their Gofundme site before they removed it.
Was there a crime committed? You decide.
Is this person a nice person? I don't know, I've never met them. They may be the nicest person in the world but look at the facts above and you decide.
I'm in agreement with the "new" Ning policy of posting of information on scam artists only after criminal conviction.

Facts: Roy and his engineer sold to my clients some lots at the beach of Puerto Armuelles for the sum $90,000.00, after a little research we realized that the lots do not exist and no corporation of Roy´s owned those lots.
My clients deposited the money in the accounts that Roy has or had in USA.”
Roy bought his way out of the last complaint, which was remarkably similar, by paying the amount he was alleged to steal. Since he is in Panama and this a a criminal fraud complaint, he is guilty until proven innocent or pays the claimants, who can then drop the proceedings.

With all due respect, this is what we are trying to get away from. Please, if you have a personal beef with someone and or have personal legal proof of a person's legal indiscretions, then sure the community should know. however if it is assumptions or character assassinations because someone does not like someone or had a "beef" with them, this is not the place to do it or post a picture. We ask you to refrain. As stated, we are trying to allow community members to understand the new ning is in a new direction and does not wish to go back to its previous forum reputation. We have lost a few who miss it, but our net gain is getting better everyday. We wish you the best, but please do not post pictures of those you have legal issues with unless you have criminal proof and if so, lets use prudence. Has this person in question been given a forum to defend himself? Again, this is not Ning's business ( of course a few of you believe otherwise ).
With all due respect Ambreen, you need to do some research on the history of Roy Knight. This isn't Bill's personal beef. While you're at it, check out Ozzie too, in case he ever gets out of jail and reappears in Boquete.
Thank you for the clarification. I personally do not have a beef or problem with anyone. However, I've met far too many people here in Boquete who have been scammed in just the few short years that I've lived here. What amazes me most is that many of these scam artists are still walking the streets of Boquete scamming people.
I just wanted understand the "new" Ning perspective on dealing with scam artists.
