"Thank you" just does not cut it. There ought to be even better, even stronger, words with which to express myself.
TO THE BOQUETE COMMUNITY: You came, you saw, you sampled! You savored the soups, you sat and visited, and you savored the soups some more. And this is what we had hoped for.
TO THE BCP FACILITY: (Yes, I am thanking a building. Deal with it!) You handled the tables, the chairs, the electrical draw(!) with calm and order. And power. You sheltered us from the morning's rain and the afternoon's sun.
TO THE BCP BOARD: You provided us with a familiar, welcoming place in which to hold our Great Boquete Soup Kitchen. You checked on us to make sure every need, every want, even, was met. I don't think you ever once said "no".
TO RICHARD MEYER AND MORT RABKIN: Bread! Delicious, delectable bread! Just the thing to accompany soup. And you gave us a feast of breads.
TO THE AMAZING LADIES AND GENTLEMEN WHO DONATED SOUPS (AND CHILI): Marilyn Anderson, Ann Barrett, Dede Batson, Herta Bernbach, Lauretta Bonfiglio, Glenda Cates, Deborah Gershon,Tammy Gulick, Nancy Halbert, Joanne Hatch, Martine Heyer, Leslie King, Renny Kranich, Nan Landsman, Manzar Lari, Elaine Lewis, Cindy Thomas, Dave Thomas, and Cathy Schulte (who not only made TWO soups, but also made pita bread!) All of you shopped and selected, sliced and simmered, cooking not just with meats and vegetables, herbs and spices, but adding love with every stir.
TO THE SWEETHEARTS WHO DONATED BAKED GOODIES--COOKIES, CUPCAKES, BROWNIES AND MORE: Jean Marderness, Kathy Donelson, and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone! The only thing sweeter and richer than the treats is the caring and concern you have for the tiniest of your neighbors-- the babies and toddlers for whom we knit (and crochet and quilt.)
TO CONI REEDER: You created the tablecloths for our soup servers. And you created the charming mats for our centerpieces. They captured everyone's hearts!
TO ALL THE SERVERS: We could not have survived without you! I am so, so sorry that I do not have each of your names. I know some of them, but don't want to leave anyone out, so, while I cannot name you individually, I know who you are and and hold you in my heart.
TO JOANNE HATCH AND TAMMY GULICK: You opened the bar, you opened your hearts. You created a special punch just for us! It was delicious!
TO U.S. AMBASSADOR AND MRS. JONATHAN FARRAR: You honored us beyond measure by coming! And enjoying! And bringing yarn and blankets! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As I said to begin with "You came, you saw, you sampled." And you supported the Boquete Knitters and Quilters not just with your donations, but with your presence, your encouragement, your love. "Thank you" really does not begin to cut it. But thank you.
(Preliminary figures show over $1100!! But we will give an accurate accounting as soon as possible.)

Yes, to Chris being there and demonstrating..
I had a great conversation with Chris while he was spinning ..and another knowledgeable weaver and he stated to talk about 'drop spindles' that enables you to use it even in grocery lines etc. I shared all this with bf in California who is a weaver and she was delighted to hear of all that particular type of handicraft being done down here.
Kudos All.
Dang it! Please forgive me, Chris.
TO CHRIS McCALL: Thank you for bringing your wheel, your carders, your niddy-noddy, your roving, your time, your skills, and sitting and spinning! From what I could see, everyone was enchanted at the sight.
The soup was amazing and the atmosphere had lots of positive energy. I met some new folks and also got to meet the Ambassador. I won't say how many half cups of soup I had...but I sampled a clear majority (smile). Lots of fun for a good cause.
Special "Warm Fuzzies" sent to all Volunteers... in an email to you.
Abrazos,
Erin

I'm hoping this becomes a regular event. Next time I will use a different strategy so that I get to taste everything.
