Ruby Mckenzie and me need urgent help. We found a very poor lady living in a dump with 19 dogs and 30 cats. I got 3 dogs adopted and a cat which was chained in a cage.
We did enclosures to get them off their chains. Ruby gets food to them.
The lady got hospitalized and we are overwhelmed now by taking care of all those animals. There is a bunch of sweet kittens with not mother but still in need of mothers milk.
By now I shelter 12 dogs and take care of 10 more dogs in poor situations. I get help for food and some med/vet. care from Carol Newsome. All the work for me is overwhelming. Besides I am not retired and try to make money as a jeweler. (Sick husband to care for on top.)
Please help.
We don't see a lot of dogs running loose in my neighborhood and the ones that we do see are obviously pets that have escaped their yards. We have no idea who they belong to. By the time you call anyone the animal is long gone. Even if we knew who the pet belonged to and had their phone number the animal is usually gone by the time you call them.
Of course they need to be spayed/neutered, but they also need to eat, don't they? Plus, this appears to be teaching youth and adults the value of re-cycling.
Nice system as far as it goes. Now if these dogs had to pay for their food and water by stepping inside to be spayed or neutered it would be PERFECT.
The dog in the video however didn't appear to be a street dog. It had a collar, didn't appear to be sick or starving. People need to keep their dogs in their yards unless they are out walking them on a leash. Panama DOES have a leash law. Too bad they don't have animal control.

The dog in the video was obviously used as a prop in order to produce the video. And who says the dogs using such a system are not already spayed/neutered? Or, are all such dogs put up for adoption immediately upon being spayed/neutered?
In the US and also here in Panama any animal, be it cat or dog that is being put up for adoption by a reputable or licensed agency has been spayed or neutered. So the answer to your question is a resounding YES!

Very cool and innovative! Healthy strays are better than starving strays, for everyone concerned.
