I would appreciate any and all information you have about this bus trip, such as :
Can you buy tickets ahead of time?
What is the process for crossing the border, money needed?
Do the buses have bathrooms or do any stops?
Can you bring food onboard?
When does the bus generally arrive in San Jose and where?
Any other suggestions would certainly be welcome.

No. I don't think so. There are few Panamanians that post in this forum and for sure I could say that I don't think that government officials will have the time and wants to monitor all the expat forums just for gathering information.
Nanette,
I would recommend catching the bus David to Frontiers Check your self out of Panama and
into Costa Rica. You'll see a large bus station on you left as you walk to Costa Rica immigration
If you sign on David to San Jose bus you'll have to wait until all passenger are checked through
the border
Bill
Ok, does that work the same for San Jose TO David?
Yes.
Thank you =)
My family did exactly this a few years ago. We researched and found an attorney in PTY (Mayra Lamboglia) online. We had email correspondence with her regarding what we needed to apply for residency (myself and my son) and Pensionados (my parents), We got the paperwork together, took it to our friend at the Sec of State's office where we had the documents Apostille.
A month later we were on a plane with 17 suitcases, our paperwork headed for PTY. We did not have a return flight. When they asked us at the gate, we told them we were moving here and were planning on applying for residency. We stopped in PTY for a week, met our attorney, and turned in our application for residency. Then headed down to Boquete to a rental that we also found online. We have never looked back. We love it here and it was the best spit second decision we ever made.
Thank you for your helpful comments, Leslie! =)
And now that "Mrs. V" has revealed her identity, the "government officials" who "monitor expat websites" may be on the look-out for her. Fortunately, they'll have to wade through all the postings by FOL's & Walter to find this....
whew, right?
There are plenty of people living here on a semi-permanent basis who simply leave the country every 180 days to "renew" their stay. Do you have any evidence, FOL's, that this is a violation of the law?
