Wondering if anyone has any current experience with moving a motorcycle or a vehicle to Columbia ? It seems like Ferryxpress is not running right now. Any leads would be appreciated.

No Walter, I put crazy and added the (er) as they are already crazy. So my shortcut absolutely worked for what was intended. ;o) I guess it should have been (ier) Satisfied?
As pointed out above, we all make these little mistakes. But Columbia? Really??
The Darien border right now is unsafe. I do not know about snakes or others but I do know that because of the hundreds of cubans that are smuggled to Darien from Colombia, there are increased crimes in all small towns and the Panama government is taking action. A lot is going on in the Colombia border where authorities are involved in rape, theft and yes even dead of those trying to cross illegally into Panama, tgey have their own crossing rates and narcos and gangs are not so much visible or active now because of increased SENAFRONT, but there are many fed up indigenous residents, lost cubans and other migrants and the Colombian version of coyotes. So like I said, be careful whichever way as it is not at all like the CR border

Good luck and stay safe....ah and take plenty of copies of your title and registration papers
Thank you very much Olga. I will surely pass this on to my friends. As for my self, I have more to do to be ready including talking w/ those who have just come North. Either way, staying away from the Interior of the Darian is a very good idea so one can enjoy the rest of the trip South and back to our peaceful valley, Alive.
FYI, I live here in Boquete most of the time and volunteer to help overland motorcyclist in their journey. The common issue is passing over he Darian. It is funny to read the scarey yet ludicrous, and sometimes creative stories of passing the Darian: along the coast at low tide, devising a motorcycle powered adapts boat, 5 different panga-type boats,( there have been no less then 2 documented passages actually on the motorcycles and living thru the ordeal even though it was said to only be 85 miles of rough going)
The sailing vessel, Stahlratte makes it's last journey of the year in early Dec., it is full ( it is an old fishing vessel with a size able cargo hold )
Ferryxpress is not running.
Which leaves the option of sharing a container or flying.
Or, visiting the national park at the end of the road and turn back.
I will continue to run down any leads for my own future trip south and helping others with their quest. Thank you all, Jim Gathercole

Just razing you Walter because you are always correcting everyone. It was just fun to do a tit for tat. No worries guy. ;o) We're none of us perfect.

It's okay, Walter. We all have those brain farts occasionally! lol
Walter, Walter, Walter. For someone who prides himself on his spelling and grammar, I'm really shocked that you would spell Colombia as Columbia. lol
But Linda, he did spell Darien correctly. lol
It's DARIEN, not Darian. Can you please correct the spelling. It's driving a friend of mine crazy(er) lol
