It has been a quarter since folks shared home building info. We are talking with primos who have property close to Boqueron that may work for us. We aren't interested in Boquete or Potrerillos and it would help out our family to buy from them.
For the benefit of those new to ning, I am a gringo married to a lady from Boquete so we are well aquainted with the area. What I am interested in is current experiences from those building or about to build in the Chiriqui Province. We aren't looking for MacMansions, we would most probably live there during the hottest and coldest times in Texas, a few months each year.
This thread had some good info, I thought some of the people may have started construction by now.

Just to add something to the thread you referred to...
Most folks want things "cheap, fast and good"...pick any two!
if its cheap and fast ,it wont be good , if its fast and good , it wont be cheap ..etc
and I think , for someone not being in construction and moving to Chiriqui ,its better to find a 'good bones ' home and fix it up, rather than building from scratch.....

As this is just east of la Conception , its fairly low (I`m sure you already know...lol) so even a cabana type structure would need AC...one of the reasons i`d like to be higher up, to really save on utilities..no AC, no heat would be perfect in my mind...= less costs...
not sure exactly what the country side looks like there, dont remember, but fairly flat if I recall right....I`ve only stopped and had lunch in Conception twice coming back down to David from Volcan.
