Interesting to note that in Alto Boquete, there isn't enough business after 5:00 p.m. to keep the Alto Dorado Cafe open, and the Chinese restaurant gets very few diners and takeouts in the evening. Yet no less than three new restaurants are open(ing) within a half a mile. Obvious graduates of the W.P. Kinsella school of business planning.

Missing USA restaurant flavors…?  We recently had lunch at Quick & Sweet in David.  To say it was a WOW experience is an understatement.  We had Taco Salads the size of a dinner plate filled with meat, beans, garden fresh lettuce & tomatoes, olives and everything you remember from a Taco Salad you'd get in the good ol' US of A – except, I don't know how she did it, but the taco shell stayed crispy down to the last bite.  We also brought home a key lime pie that was done to perfection. The owners, Tom & Iris Brolin, are a delightful couple offering daily specials and the prices are extremely reasonable.  You won't be disappointed here!

The best meal I have had was at Big Daddy.  Service and personality of owners will keep me coming back......week after week.

Can anyone provide an update on Big Daddy's??  After all the almost-negative hullaballoo on .ning after it opened, have heard nothing since then.

Today I decided to try out sugar and spice.  I had the BLT and coffee.  The sandwich was excellent, but was disappointed with coffee for two reason.

1 it was not hot luke warm at best 

2 It is advertised as Nescafe which i wonder why we would serve this versus what i consider to be better the local boquete brands.

 

Despite the coffee issue i give this a thumbs up.  Very good bakery / eatery.

it has the means to cure any sweet tooth and i have more the one to cure.

went out to yet another fine day to eat at las posado I believe it was called.
first impression was nice looking but very high priced for panama, however with that said here is my feelings after eating.
first I must say the food was just awesome never had better. got your moneys worth, but with that said i still think on the steep side for Panama.
Service was fair need training in following areas.
1 make sure silverware arrives at table before the food. I say this because boith the appetizer and dinner were serve and we had no silverware to use either time had to wait.
also need to learn to place dinner in front of person from the left not reach across table in front of other customers to serve.
Okay so i am picky but I expect both good food and service when dining sorry.
overall very pleasent dining i give the followiong rating on 1 ot 5 5 being the best.
this food definate 5+++
service i will rate a 3.5 as they were polite just not on their top service overall rating 4.5
suggestions for 5 rating train staff and lower your price a tad so the locals can afford to eat there as well. I know most don't make more than 1 to 200 a week from what i have seen and to feed 4 it cost me just shy of 60$
servings are huge so either plan on doggy bagging leftovers or don't try to eat both appetizer and dinner. for your info i had the shrimp and sea bass dish superb
Oh the kitchen did make one mistake they put my fritas on my mother in-laws plate and her veggies on mine. another service error. Still great food

The best pizza as far as i am concerned comes from sorrentoes in Panama city. You can watch them prepare it thur a window. cook in brick oven fuel by wood. mmmmmmmmmmmm is all i can say. Clams are a great appetizer as well.
service is great but there are one or two waiters who could improve their service. Over all i would give this a 4.5 rating on scale of 1 to 5
