Trip Advisor Reviews of Cloud Forest Botanicals

Check out this link to see what visitors are saying about the Medicine Way Trail Tour & Tea at Finca Luz.

This attraction is the ONLY one of its kind...a hands on introduction to the healing properties, traditional uses, and current research on rain forest medicinal plants. The tour is followed by a luscious late morning or late afternoon spread of cakes, sandwiches, organic coffee, herbal lemonade and time to ask questions. The visit takes 2 - 2.5 hours. costs is $30.00 per person. (Ask us about our discounted rate for residents who are returning with guests).

This week, there are openings for the Wednesday, March 7th morning (9:30) and afternoon (2:00 PM) tours. Transportation can be provided. Call 6636-8663 for reservations or more information.

Cloud Forest Botanicals

The Medicine Way Trail

Tour & Tea on The Terrace

Tours are Mondays and Wednesdays. Friday tours are available by special arrangement. Tour requires a minimum of 2 persons. Small groups are welcome, but no more than 10.

The morning tour begins at 9:30 AM, the afternoon tour begins at 2 PM.

Each tour takes 2-2.5 hours and includes full morning coffee and homemade refreshments or full afternoon tea (cakes, cheese, jams and tea sandwiches) on The Terrace, overlooking the vista to the Pacific.

If you do not have your own transportation, pick up is available in front of the Oasis Hotel (9:15 and 1:45, by prior arrangement).

The tour is led by a bilingual guide and includes identification of rain forest medicinal plants in their native habitat, traditional lore about various plants, and understanding current uses and research about medicinal plants and herbs. A huge percentage of modern pharmaceuticals are derived from rain forest plant components. On this tour you can learn about the synergistic, holistic origins of modern drugs--and how, perhaps, the plant itself might be a better alternative.

The Medicine Way Trail is a gentle 45 minute walk that passes from Cloud Forest through meadowland to wetland and back to the main garden. It is an easy, well maintained trail, though not suited for persons with physical handicaps (uneven terrain, a few steps, etc.). Persons who would like to participate but are not able for physical reasons to do the whole trail are welcome to visit and explore the level areas around the main garden and house, or relax on the terrace and participate in the coffee/tea hour and information exchange session.

The cost is $30.00 per person. Cash only. We do not accept credit cards. Prior reservations for larger groups may be made through PayPal.

Finca Luz is the ONLY combined organic medicinal plant and coffee farm open year round to the public in the area. Treat yourself to a relaxing morning or afternoon. Walk, breathe, learn, relax, enjoy. For reservations or more information, contact me at veworley@gmail.com, or here on ning, or call me at 6636-8663. Visit Finca Luz' website for more information. When I got back to the states I was really glad to have the ortiga anamu tonic as it was very humid and My arthritis got bad but I kicked it in the but with the natural tonic.  now that I am back the first thing I did was get some more.   It is great stuff, natural and effective.
