I'll be moving, permanently, to Boquete at the end of August.  I don’t know, yet, what food items that we’ve been accustomed to will be available in the Boquete area.  Does anyone know if I can carry, with me from the US, things such as – bottled…Continue

Hello everyone. Today one of my clients asked me if I had some vegetarian/vegan recepies for her to try.So I thought perhaps some of you have favorite ones to share.  Is anyone willing to share some of their favorite ways to prepare vegetables and starch alternative dishes that are verily easy to make. She really enjoys full flavored dishes that are health conscious.

Hello all:

We are interested in a permaculture approach / design to the home or land we hope to have some day in Boquete.  Is there anyone who incorporates this into their gardening, farming, house, etc?  Any examples in the area?

Thanks

My husband and I are now living, full-time, in Boquete.....yay!

Quite a while ago, in one of the blogs, someone posted the name of a store in David where fresh tofu can be purchased.  I can't find that post again.....it seems there's no way to do a search.  Does anyone know where I can find that fresh tofu in David?

Thank you, Elizabeth.  I look forward to finding these places when my husband and I get back to Boquete next month.

Also--in David, Super 99 has a pretty good selection of organic grains and other products at reasonable prices. The Chinese grocery in David, Lily's, often has fresh tofu, bok choy, spinach, and all the usual rice noodle options.

Thanks for starting this group.  I have been an on and off vegetarian for many years, but the last year and a half I have stopped eating all animal products.  My health has improved dramatically.  It is a challenge to be very low fat plant based here in Boquete but growing my own veggies has helped.  Hopefully I will have some to share in a couple of months (they are drowning right now!)

Three books that were instrumental in my health turn around thru diet were The China Study (Campbell),  Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease (Esselstyn), and Eat to Live (Fuhrman)

A website that has great recipes and discussions on health improvements through plant based diet is

Hello James...after many years of being a meat eater, I am changing my eating habits. Not quite yet a vegetarian, but definitely moving in that direction. It sure would help to know where to buy good veggies here in Boquete and also (biggest problem for me)  good, tasty & easy ways to prepare my food. Good idea to start this group. I hope we can get some feedback from others.

Danny
