I am looking for a couple of horses. They need to be trail ready and easy enough for beginners. They will be pastured in Caldera and used for Horseback riding trips for tourists. Mare or gelding--preferably 15+ hands. We can only afford $500 or less, per horse. We have found a few for sale locally--but they are usually short, and we get a lot of tall or large guys on tour.

Read your article about your horses. I am interested in horses as well. We currently have 4 horses in Nicaragua. We do not get to Nicaragua nearly often enough but have enjoyed riding in the junge for several years. We are hoping to get a house in Panama and spend more time there every year.

I just sold my horse in Costa Rica as we are on the road too much between Boquete and CR, but will be looking for another in the near future if anyone has a good connection where to look. I participated in calbagatta's and tope's often in small villages, wonderful experiences shared with Costarican horse lovers. I just attended the John Lyons symposium and a clinic in Costa Rica, fabulous! so much to learn about "natural" horsemanship.. I came back with a new non-agressive bit and a whole new outlook on training and riding. I would highly recommend looking at his site and there are several manuals and dvd's that are available for purchasing.
