Boquete Panama

Cool, Green and the best Coffee in the world

I prefer good quality food. Slow cooked, well raised, and prepared with care.

What markets do people recommend for obtaining clean (organic, etc) food in the area?

I know there is a restaurant section on the forum as well, and enjoy it too. If there is are restaurants that lean to healthy eating I would love to know of them.

Interested in local herbs, traditional foods, "organic meats, fruits, and veggies", etc.

Not a fanatic whatsoever, but i do enjoy treating the body well. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,
It has been a while since I communicated with everyone. I was very busy, right now it is a little bit slower, so I will have more time to keep this group going!!!
Dear S, did you ever find information about organic food in Boquete? (I know of someone in Panama, she may be one of the gourmet cooks at Valle Escondido in Boquete, I am not sure, however, I have seen her website, something like Cooking Diva, I will find out and let you know.) Her website pictures make you hungry, and the Panamanian recipes she makes sound and look so deliscious!
Do you know that it takes couple of hours to make lunch and dinner every day, Panamanian style?
You said, you like "Slow cooked, well raised, and prepared with care." and that's precisely the way food is cook everyday in Panama, (at least that's how my grandma, my mom, my aunts, and myself make food)
I will share some recipes I know everyone will enjoy, so stay tune....

Hey Nedelka,

I have seen the "CookingDiva" addition and sent her a "friend request". Intrigued :) I look forward to hearing more. It seems with the spas and such around that certainly if there isn't a good access point of such foods definitely a way to create one will be needed eventually.

Bringing this thread up was a good reminder to eat better :) as well as to continue to make the Boquete connect.

Hi S.
I am so glad The Cooking Diva accepted my invitation to join Boquetening. I am looking forward to get feed back from her.
(I am trying to get some of my mom's recipes to post them in here)

Take care,

Nedelka.
