Comment by Dudley Williams on May 4, 2013 at 10:18pm Why do property owners dislike cats? Looking at many of the rental ads it is common to see "No Children, No Pets". Cats seem to form the low end of the spectrum in this regard.
I have owned and lived with cats and other animals including children for many years and have to say that I cannot recall an instance where either cats or children have caused damage. My point is why not just increase the deposit for cat or children owners.
Sorry but I have never understood this perspective.

Comment by CURVAS BONITA on February 8, 2013 at 4:58pm I am so happy he found a home. I love to take pictures off my adoption board at the gym. I almost had the French lady next door talked into taking Skeeter.

Comment by Dudley Williams on December 15, 2012 at 1:45pm Thank you Bonnie and Judy!
You confirmed what I had supposed to be true. My plan is to construct and indoor/outdoor component of our home which has all the attributes of being "outdoors" but never the less has restricted entry and exit. I think in this way my animals may have the benefits of a quasi day-time out door experience without having to suffer any of the natural hazards.
Again thanks so much for your input.

Comment by Judy Sacco on December 15, 2012 at 9:26am Dudley, Best to leave your cats inside, or let them go on the patio and in the yard in the daytime. Bring them in at night. The predators are feral cats (fights) and loose dogs and cars.
Comment by Bonnie Williams on December 14, 2012 at 3:47pm Dudley:
There are lots of unleashed dogs here, as well as feral cats. I have a fenced yard and a Panamanian cat that adopted us. She "knows the ropes" and is an indoor/outdoor cat. I would think that non-native cats that have spent their lives indoors probably would be better off remaining indoors here.
Comment by Dudley Williams on December 14, 2012 at 3:28pm I am currently living in S.CA and share accommodations with my family and two Ocicats. We are moving to Panama beginning March 2013. Renting at first and eventually planing to buy land and build a home.
I have lots of questions to those willing to provide advice on living with cats in Panama. We will begin renting in the Boquete area as I think it will provide a very good home base.
1) Question: Currently my 2 cats do not go outside much as we live in an urban environment which has more than its fair share of Cyotes and big racoons. Cats are easy prey to Cyotes. Are there any natural predators in the Boquete region which would prevent my cats going out into the yard?
Thanks: dudley williams
