Today I went as far as you can go on pavement west from Palmiro Centro to the little tienda at Palmira abajo i think. I asked about the Ruta Sur and they said not yet. My question is can you get to Potrerillos on a motorcycle or 4WD  from there even though it appears not paved.

I am ramping up production. I have 50 gallons of OATILLA, 15 gallons of tomato, and am about to start 50 gallons of banana. next will be 50 gallons of tomato. from here on its 50 gallon batches. soon mango, pine apple, star fruit, maricuya etc.

There has been a lot of gravel moving towards  Palmira from Potrerillos. Much work bypassing the small briges that can  not accomidate these very large trucks. I have not been that way to see the progress yet but I doubt It is done. I see no through trafic and no pavement at all.

Okay everyone....I have heard that the road is completed, but have not seen any new photos or information.  I also read that there is a map of the Ruta Sur available.  What have you heard or do you know if the road is finished and ready to travel on?...Pattie

Hi there I have been similarely frustrated in looking for info on the ruta sur. I have now been in Potrerillos for 10 months. There has been nothing done between Potrerillos and Boquete. Know one here has any concrete info. Lots of rumors. As it is the road is a mess and does not yet connect to Boquete.
The potrerillos to Volcan section is lovely. I need a motercycle.

Since the last postings were September 12, 2008, in two years, is the Ruta Sur done yet? I think when we were there earlier this year, the year 2012 was mentioned to us as the approximate finish date. Does anyone have any up to date info? Thanks
