vegas has virtually no gun laws. did that make it a safer place? too many guns, too many unstable people. it is not a political discussion, it should be a quality of life discussion. there should be a safer middle ground. simple fact.

Royal,

Can you control your child Walter Steiner?  As you see, he's constantly flooding this site with useless information when the adults are trying to have a conversation.

Leave the children at home.

Yes, I can explain it...because the strict gun laws are not universally or federally mandated...For this to work, it has to be applied thoughout the US. You know this, you are just quoting some talking points republicans always use without given any thought to the rationale of logical reasoning.

Until the philosophy which hold one race superior
And another
Inferior
Is finally
And permanently
Discredited
And abandoned -
Everywhere is war -
Me say war.

That until there no longer
First class and second class citizens of any nation
Until the colour of a man's skin
Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes -
Me say war.

That until the basic human rights
Are equally guaranteed to all,
Without regard to race -
Dis a war.

That until that day
The dream of lasting peace,
World citizenship
Rule of international morality
Will remain in but a fleeting illusion to be pursued,
But never attained -
Now everywhere is war - war.

And until the ignoble and unhappy regimes
that hold our brothers in Angola,
In Mozambique,
South Africa
Sub-human bondage
Have been toppled,
Utterly destroyed -
Well, everywhere is war -
Me say war.

War in the east,
War in the west,
War up north,
War down south -
War - war -
Rumours of war.
And until that day,
The African continent
Will not know peace,
We Africans will fight - we find it necessary -
And we know we shall win
As we are confident
In the victory

Of good over evil -
Good over evil, yeah!
Good over evil -
Good over evil, yeah!
Good over evil -

Michael, the vegas shooting equaled a slow month in chicago, a democrat city in a state with the strictest gun laws.  can you explain?

Comment by Michael Ellis on October 10, 2017 at 9:15am

@El Gato...Can you prove that? Given a modern society... Compare the number of gun deaths of the highest guns per population as compared to the number of gun death of the lowest guns per pop...

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/14/upshot/compare-these-gun-death-r...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_...

The shooting in Las Vegas equalled something like 40 years of gun violence in Japan.

In any case, If you can't see the disparity/facts, then I can't help you...which goes back to that debating things, I have shown you charts, facts...what you think and feel about it are irrelevant.

Michael: Countries with far fewer guns have no where even near the number of gun deaths the US has. That is a simple statistic. On police and black men being shot, the latest Census data is from 2015 and it shows: Findings:

  • Police killed 104 unarmed black people in 2015.

  • Nearly 1 in 3 black people killed by police in 2015 were identified as unarmed.

  • 36% of unarmed people killed by police were black in 2015 despite black people being only 13% of the U.S. population

  • Unarmed black people were killed at 5x the rate of unarmed whites in 2015

Michael,

What are you smoking today?

I think more guns would lead to less deaths like in the old west.

Am armed society is a polite society.

Think about it.

Can you prove that less guns means more gun deaths?
