Perfect New York Pizza Dough

Perfect New York Pizza Dough

This is an easy to make pizza dough that will work for you every time! I like to make my own pizza at home and the kids love to help! if you don’t have a pizza stone, I highly recommend the purchase!

2 teaspoons instant yeast
1 Cup of warm (not hot) Water
1/4 teaspoon sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
3 Cups Organic Unbleached Flour  (Any AP Flour will work)
1 teaspoon of salt

Start by putting the cup of water, yeast and sugar in a bowl and let it sit for 15 minutes until foamy. Now add the salt and olive oil to the wet mixture. Now add the wet to the 3 cups of flour and kneed until the dough is together. By hand, 5 minutes or so always works for me. Put the dough in a oiled bowl and oil the top of the dough as well. Now place a wet kitchen towel over the bowl and let the rise at room temperature for 30 minutes or so.  Continue the rise in the refrigerator for 3 or 4 hours. When you are ready to make your Pizza, that the dough out and let stand for about 1/2 hour then stretch or roll to desired size. This dough is also perfect for calzones! Use the marinara sauce I posted on this blog a couple of weeks ago with or without the sausage. Tossing a pizza takes practice,  but now you have a great dough to start with. Experiment and ENJOY!!
