Thank you Joy, for an excellent post.

In my opinion, the lesson is in risk management. You cannot eliminate risk, but you can lower it. Joy mentioned alarms and motion-sensor lights. An excellent start.

It also helps to look at what the local folks do to prevent break-ins -- window bars and security doors. I hear people talk out of one side saying "Oh I don't want to feel like I'm living in a prison," or, "But it will ruin my view." The choice is yours, but don't scream… Continue

Oh trust me, don't you think Che would be up on the bed in a minute? You just have to make a decision of whether or not you want a 60+ pound body being another occupant of your bed. Once you let her on it's very difficult to get her off. I think you are doing the right thing by letting her become comfortable off the bed. Why don't you purchase a dog bed or use old blankets in the crate that she can nest in. She will find this just as comfortable.

How is the dog doing?

My German Shepherd is neutered. I know he looks good but he is going on ten years now. He has been a great dog and an even greater partner in my business.
Be very careful who you leave your dog with. Please go to the forums page and look at some of the things you need to check prior to boarding your dog. Be sure they are responsible and not just caring for your dog for money. Your animals life is in their hands and they need to be experienced enough to handle that responsibility. Would you leave a child with this person? Think about it.

Bob, have you looked at my website www.howlingsuccessk9.com? I post my rates there plus there is an application that must be filled out prior. You can easily download it however and take your time filling it out. There are no surprises with me, what I post is my service and I promise you if you leave your dog with me he will be smiling when you return.

I'm looking for a small casita, preferably furnished, for a July 1 occupancy. Will be long-term renter. Non-smoker, no pets or children, can diagnose and fix most household problems and repairs.
