Personal information with the U.S. Embassy

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 5:11pm 3 Comments

After reading today's piece in the Boquete Guide about visitors from the U.S. Embassy, I accessed the information I had filed with the embassy several years ago with an eye toward updating it. I could find no where to enter next of kin information or any other information other than my Boquete address, e-mail, and telephone. Am I missing something? The article implied that information about who to contact in case of emergency should be registered on the website.

Thanks.  I think I'm pretty on top of what has to be done. Wasn't before but got some good info. It seems like it is going to be pretty easy.  The process is stressful though.

Dr Sam @ Happy Pet will make it very easy. Dogs already got their rabies and polyvalent vaccinations and even got their teeth cleaned. Couple days before we leave we will go see him. He will reexamine them. Then we return the next day @ 9am and he will have our Health Certificate, Vaccination cards and Export Permit (you can get it in David) all ready.  The Health Certificate should be in English and Spanish both.  - - - We have a driver in PC who speaks English and he will get us to United Cargo early in the morning and help us get them checked in and then take us to the passenger terminal.  Piece of cake....theoretically.

Bonnie,

I graduated Florida State University  for my B.S. in Nursing.  Government was giving away money to Registered Nurses without a BS to get a degree....no payback.   I worked as an RN at night, did all my homework on the job and took flying lessons with all my extra money there at the Tallahassee airport.  Used to fly to Dog Island, land on the grass strip and do my schoolwork on the beach then fly back.   I was totally blessed.  Just a matter of luck and timing.

Alison.

It's pretty up there around Tallahassee....cold now !

hi Bonnie:  I will go to the greenhouse tomorrow to take inventory - as I mentioned, we had an accident and the transplant tray was dropped - I think about 10 tomato plants survived and are looking good - however since they fell out of the tray, I am not sure what type of tomato they are, but I can narrow it down to about 4 :-)  I replanted the best growing tomatoes, but only 2 have come up,  I have some other plants that are coming up and will see if they will be ready - I will look around and see what I can come up with we will better prepared next time.....

hi Bonnie.......since we will be doing vegetables, we are thinking that it may be better to wait until the December fund raiser, that way most of the heavy rainy season will have past and it will make for a better survival rate for the plants, unless you have a greenhouse or some type of covered area, many of the basics will not do well with all of the rain - we would like to have good size plants for the fundraiser - we have been without a worker but just hired one today so we are in better shape to get this going - but let us think about this - we think we will not have good stock by October - we just did not plan that part very well but we will get better once things get settled.

Bonnie, My emails to your Yahoo address regarding the ATM poll have bounced back.  I would like your thoughts on my draft poll before posting it as I still want to be 100-percent sure we have the information needed.  Is there another way we can swap documents?

J

Hi Bonnie, Jack Mozetti told us Larry is having health issues. You are both in our thoughts and prayers. Don't know if you have time to think of anything else. We are getting ready to put in our garden. I am looking for a lot of Drarf Mondo Grass. Also, I read about your garden and saw your beautiful pictures. I would love to have Gardenia plants, Crepe Myrtles and some other Southern flowers. I would like to join your Garden Club also.
Thanks, Cynthia Essman
