Dennis, You will not be able to take advantage of any pensionado discount until you get your official papers in Panama. Panama customs does not honor any lawyer's vouching and/or other types of plea.Their protocol is pretty rigid.

As of last September, Law 49 (passed by Panama’s National Assembly and enacted into law by president Martinelli) is the new tax law of the land (Panamanian territory). As promised, the law implements long anticipated reforms in Panama’s taxation protocol.

General property appraisals by the state and capital gains tax on sale of properties are two areas that were revamped by this new Panama tax law.

Panama's Air Accessibility Will Get Major Boosts

There is a really promising news in today's La Prensa regarding the long awaited and urgently needed international airport that will service Panama's central provinces (Cocle, Herrera, Los Santos).
