Shipping Options/Advice

We're about to relocate to Boquete from the States quite soon, and needing to ship a few packages of miscellaneous personal items to ourselves that're too cumbersome to pack into our luggage.  Seeking recommendations on best ways to complete such shipping ... realizing that delivery to homes (like by UPS or DHL) isn't done there like we're used to in the States.  Total of perhaps three or four packages measuring approximately 12" x 12" x 16" each, and weighing perhaps six or eight pounds apiece.See More

What to do about BANKING?

I know from other posts I've read that there are options available for opening bank accounts and having ATM's available to me as a new arrival in Boquete, but the question I would really like to have answered by the folks who've been here a while and have had the opportunity to experience the pros and cons of it is whether it really makes sense to transfer all my banking from the States to Panama, or if it'd be better to maintain some account(s) in the US ... where I have established history…See More

Good day,
I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and demand it necessary to write you immediately.
I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.
Could you please get back to me o(mrs.bb.abiolabwuah00@gmail.com) for the full details.
Have a nice day.

Greetings Frank!

I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to Boquete Ning.

Many of us joined this organization to make new friends, or to help understand what being new to an area means, and sometimes to get information about businesses or even directions to get around.

You will find good support with that here. So don’t hesitate to use this forum to ask questions, or for advice, and especially the chance to have coffee with new folks.

I will start out by offering some information about a couple of products I found important to me when I first came to Panama several years ago.  After scouring the Internet, I found the very best travel map produced for Panama; interestingly enough it comes from a world-renowned cartographer in Canada.  Expat Imports is the name of the local firm that supports this company in the Southern Americas.  In fact, I found out that they stock maps for all of Mexico, Central & South American countries, the Caribbean and Cuba right there in Pedasi.

And, also, I would like to introduce you to a most fantastic research & information resource called RainForest Nature Guides.  They are beautifully illustrated, very informative, and a great research tool, covering 16 separate categories such as birds, reptiles, fish, whales, flowers, trees, fruits, orchids and much more. You can find them at www.ExpatImports.com. Lot of information on that website as well

I hope this helps,

Cheers,

Mikkel
