Good morning all,
I sit here on the balcony with my cup of fresh brewed Boquete coffee and listen to the nothingness and feel a since of "home!" Thank you to all of the kind people that I met at the TMM. I was truly taken aback by the the kindness and offers to supply us with information to make our move to Boquete easier. Thank you all and I can't wait to have you over for a meal and an adult beverage.…

It was a wonderful trip, Rod, and am so anxious to return. We chose to explore the community and drove all paved roads (the little Yaris wasn't fond of many of the gravel side roads) from the northern part of Boquete south as far as Caldera and Potrollios at least once, most twice. We stopped where possible (very few shoulders along the roads) to take photo's to share with friends and family on our return to the US. We also went to all of the events and Tuesday meetings at the BCP to meet folks and share in the very active community activities, walked the downtown area many times and went into each business, and ate at all of the restaurants suggested. Plus we visited every housing development to get a feel for pricing and quality, etc.
Ken and Pattie took us to David, then we went back later on our own to explore the huge shopping center completely. I'm convinced that almost everything anyone could possibly want is available there and does not need to be brought. Automotive and woudworking tools seemed plentiful although people have often commented that the quality is lower. For the most part, prices are comparable or a bit lower than in the US. There is a furniture store that carries the Ashley brand but it is more costly. Furniture is limited by style selection but is readily available.
Two sites we really loved were the waterfall northwest of town and the Mi Jardin es Su Jardin gardens, on the north edge of town. We also took a trip to Volcan... what a beautiful drive!
For us, all of this was "Don't Miss" moments. Getting to know the community was crucial. The touristy things like river rafting and hiking we felt could be done once we move there. When visitors come here to Arizona and we take them around to see the sites, it gets old after a few times. Figured we could do all of that there when friends/family visit.
I sure hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did and look forward to meeting you too!
