It is Browallia americana that comes in shades of blue/purple and also white. It is an entirely different plant, much smaller and less hardy here."

Yup.....the dog is Josito......he was sick and we took him to Dra Chely - we just finished up meds for treating worms and tick fever. He has a few other issues that will be addressed, but he was very sick with tick fever. We now have a best friend. He has a good temperament for a Panamanian dog. We love him.
