Boquete Panama

Cool, Green and the best Coffee in the world

Us! Hubby and I are arriving the 29th for a week...looking around and hoping to meet lots of you folks...would love to "talk" first via emails , etc.,

we have had contact with a realtor who has basically tried to turn us off from coming to Panama to live-not because we are wrong for Panama but because he is a total embarrassment to think he maybe was an American in a prior life.I do NOT understand where he feels he has a right to say some of the things he has nor do I understand why he is allowed to practice real estate with his attitude but I know Panama is not the US so maybe he feels there are no rules...no code of conduct??? I pray he is not "one of you" in the Boquete/Volcan area! from everything i have read; i doubt it! I will not trash him here-it is not the place, i know...just that we need positives now as this is a big choice to make! we felt very confident til he dropped into hubby's email inbox--now i am hoping that not all folks are like that!

we've jumped all the pre trip hoops except for the packing and dropping the pets off at the sitters and i guess i would feel better if we had someone to look forward to meeting ! we know about Saturday breakfast at Dalys' in Volcan and Tuesday mornings at Hotel Fundadores in Boquete--just really wanting a lil more personal touch???? have never been shy before and not sure why i feel it now......

our post trip plan will, hopefully, be to put the house stateside on the market so we can move....

please talk to me!!!!

Hi there,
I am living in Volcan, now, just back from USA, 2 months almost.,I was born here, but health issues brought me back..
I volunteer yoga class at church, you are welcome to join..
the group has foreigners and locals..so they asked to start teaching some class in spanish, helping usa to learn and locals to understand.

DALYS, YES! To me one of the best option in town, very cheap and tasty meals, lunch, and you can meet expatriates all day around or on saturday mornig..I recommend their chillis and teas...mmmm

I can recommend PANAMA GREEN real state, the realtor is an brazilian lady, works and lived for 30 years in panama, and has a License and Business: patpanama@gmail.com or 65656058 -she may be able to find you nice properties around Chiriqui, mountains, or check some at
http://panamakraemer.wordpress.com/

you can check my blog about moving to Panama,

http://realestatepanamagreen.blogspot.com/2009/05/what-things-you-shouldnt-bring-when.html.

there is an article on what not to bring when relocating, an another about relocating pets,, my favorites.

hope this help, looking forward to meet you around here, sometime..

thank you for confirming my belief that it is HIM not us that is the wierdo....had me questioning my own sanity and working hard to remember that IF we choose to live in Panama there might/will be things different than we are accustomed to here in Ohio--we know that we would need to make adaptations in our lives -however- we CANNOT abide by pure rudeness -and i am speaking gently!!!! can't wait to meet everyone!

Hi Margo, I am certainly glad that your experience with this rude so called real estate professional did not turn you off on our wonderful community. And FYI, yes there are code of ethics however unfortunately there are a lot of freelancers as well as individuals who are licensed that do not necessarily adhere to the code - ran into quite a few when I practiced in the states. There are a lot of great people here but, like everywhere else, a few rotten apples. We look forward to having you as a member of our community! Best, Joy

Margo, don't let people with negative words turn you off about Panama. We will be moving down in June, and we have found a wonderful support group in Boquete, and have made friends there in Boquete whom we e-mail weekly with questions. We are world travlers, and finally found the place we want to live. Boquete. Come on down, stay awhile, and look around. You will be amazed.

Hi--I would be happy to meet with you and talk about real estate options, etc. in the Boquete area. I am NOT a real estate agent, but do some marketing and touring work with OwnBoquete Realty here. It's a GREAT place--I've lived here for 6 years now. Email me at veworley2003@mac.com for more information, to ask questions, etc. And, you are making a great choice in considering the highlands of Panama. Best regards, Elizabeth

Margo, I think you have added two Blogs with the same name. I hope you find this. As far as frost on your flowers, I remember that. This is not an issue you will have to deal with here. Isn't that great! They just grow and grow.

You are welcome to visit my website regarding boarding www.howlingsuccess.com. Yes, I can also accommodate birds also. How old are your dogs? I have a client with two Danes. They do very well here. As far as my friends, they are not actually very physical either. I am sure you would like them.
