Hello Patricia. Just noticed that you are a Canadian in Boquete. My wife and I from Canada, are moving to Boquete in January and we have a year and a half left on our Canadian passports. Our question is whether we should apply now in Canada to get a 5 year renewal for our passports (Canada wants a note why we want to get it so soon before it expires & mention the option that they may refuse the application and it is non-refundable) or wait a year in Panama and have them done in Panama at a consulate there. You may not have any experience in that department, but I would like to hear from you if you might have some info. I have heard that it is not as easy to get it done in Panama, but I might get refused here anyway because it is so far in advance. Thanks. Jim panamajames@gmail.com
