Tracey....HI....you're the the person I have been seeking! I need advice from asomeone in the know. I have a 12 year old. He' very excited to be moving there. BUT, I need more advice on schools and well...I want him to get friends as quickly as possible. I will probably be living in David because of the school situation but I'd rather like up the mountain a little for the temperature. What can you tell me about the school situation in Boquete and David? Any advice is most appreciated.

Hi Tracey,
No we are not driving! We are driving from Vancouver, BC to Portland, Oregon, USA, then fly from PO to San Jose, Costa Rica, and drive to Panama border, where a friend will meet us. We have a small dog but no children. My husband has two boys though from a previous marriage - although all grown up now.

I look forward to us connecting anyway. Where are you planning to live?

Marise

Hola Tracey,
For some strange reason I never got alerts of the messages you left =(.
Thanks for the comments on my son =)
We don't have dancing lessons for children, but we would be more than happy to put you in contact with our instructor so that you can arranged something for your little ones.
Would love to meet your family whenever you make it to Boquete =)
Cheers,
Julio

Hello Tracy,
I am coordinator in the Instituto Guadalupano school. I have three children in this school. I've tried to get some information for you, so I hope that it help you and other person too.

All foreign students or those who have studied in other countries must present:
*Certification of immigration, where appears, not only the general status, but the authorization number as well .
*The corresponding visa along with its validation .
* Birth Certificate countersigned by the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Panama .
* Certifications validated of credits corresponding to all the levels by the Ministry of Education in your country. Original and copy .
Here in Panama the validation of credits has a cost of B/. 5.00 to the elementary and high school.
This link has some information , but it is in Spanish http://www.meduca.gob.pa/04unad/DNEP/index.html

bye

Tracey-Thanks for responding. We are building a house at Boquete Country Club, so we're not going to be far from you, I met Gordon and Richelle and kids when I was in Boquete in February. I'm planning to go once more before we move permanently. I don't have anyone here in Maine to stay with Ryan and the animals: Lily and Googie (cats) Shaji (Shi-tsu dog) and Pippi (hamster) so, I may have to wait until Ryan gets out of school in June, Even then it's very expensive to board the animals so, I'll have to play it by ear. I plan to rent my house out here in Maine but, I have soooo much stuff to get rid of. How have the boys reacted to moving to Boquete? I have to say that Ryan isn't as thrilled as I am to say the least. Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting you all. Maybe your son and Ryan will be in the same school (Instituto Guadalupano) which is quite close to Boquete Country Club.

Hey Tracey, wanted to let you know that I did get to meet your great hubby Paul and can't wait to have you down here. Do give me a heads up when you'll be here and we'll do a girls night so I can introduce you to a few nice chicas (though you already know one of the best around, Richelle!) Bye for now as I'm starving and going to head next door for lunch. Take care, Joy

Hi there, sorry you can't make the trip with hubby but I'll look for him at the Cafe this weekend. My son is arriving from Mexico City on Sunday and I'm taking time to spend with him (he made me promise I wouldn't work) :) Told him okay, so long as laptop and cell phone didn't count! Can't wait to meet you!

Hi Tracey, of course I know Gordon and Richelle as they're two very good friends who also happen to be my landlord here! Thought I was married for the 3 years I've had my offices but recently found out - not! :) (which is why I hadn't bought property). Anyway, life is full of little "snags" but, as always things work out for the best. Had I already bought property might never have met Gordon & Richelle - so I'm a happy camper 'cause they're awesome and I adore Palmira. Did you know they opened Cafe Guari Guari which is great place to have good food and drinks, and socialize. Right here in Palmira Centro! As soon as I finish up on work, I'm headed next door for lunch. Do let me know when you'll be in town and i'll introduce you to some of my female friends. Us Chicas have to stick together, you know. Hope to meet you soon!
