There is a FREE resource that is as popular as FaceBook and CraigsList in the USA that is just not being utilized in Panama; MeetUp.com. It's mainly used as an organizational medium for CLUBS and GROUPS, HOBBY and HOME BUSINESSES, but many RETAIL BUSINESSES also take advantage of the FREE ADVERTISING. It doesn't have an open discussion option like Boquete.ning and so doesn't directly compete with it. It's not for selling Cars, Homes, and stuff.
This is not just great for getting people together in Boquete but many North Americans look to it to see what's going on in an area they might like to visit. It lets prospective customers know what Special Events, Hotels, Hostels, Restaurants, Tours, Tuesday Market, Live Music, Music Festivals, Libraries, etc, are available. It's super easy to use.
The more people that use MeetUp the better it will become. The better it becomes, the more people will use it. All it will take is a dozen visionaries to help get it going... Please tell your friends. 😎
