After a week of exploration of the Bajo Boquete area on foot, and a pair of trips to David with new friends, I have a very positive feeling about my pending decision to reside here as a jubilado.  I've been eating at both Panamanian and expat restaurants as well as having some meals in my short-term rental studio.  I attended a Tuesday morning meeting and market at BCP, and have met many wonderful people. In spite of the negative reactions of many people to the noise and bustle of the Bajo Boquete area, I don't (and won't) have a car, so I would like to live close enough to town to walk there 2-3 times per day as I now.  I am currently staying at the Valle Primavera, which is a couple off hundred meters south of Amygos Restaurant.

There is a beautiful new casita in a park-like setting in Alto Dorado that I was shown, but it is a bit far from town for me.  My budget is $300 to $400 per month, but prefer the lower part of that range.  This will be a commitment for one year, and hopefully extended to two years.

If anyone has any leads, please send me a private message here on boquete.ning or via the link on the last page of my website.

I also have people looking for shop/studio space to do artisan woodturning and box-making in the future, but that is secondary for now.
