  • The handling at Tocumen was separate, and I think that was $80. Golden Frog make sure that the vet is there if you arrive after hours. Check that you are not arriving on any holiday. The vet is supposed to examine the dog, but what happened was that a representative (his wife I think) met us and took us down a hallway just off from the baggage handling. We saw someone and handed over I think around $20, then went to the vet's office, and handed over $116, got our papers stamped and that was it. He never left his office. Digby the dog was dehydrated so we bought water from a vending machine right there, and if I remember correctly, Golden Frog had a knife to cut him out from the cage - the airlines put 4 plastic straps on the door of the cage. The van cost $450 I think. It was an old thing, but our cage was so large we needed it. We went door to door. It was worth it in the end! Have cash for everything at the airport. Have the correct money. No one will take notes above $20 without a huge hassle. Golden Frog has a website.

  • What did he charge if you don't mind me asking because perhaps by using his services and not purchasing 2 airline tickets for me and my wife and then paying for the 2 fares for the dogs and then transportation from David to some place in Boquete you're right it may pay off not to mention his handling at PTY
  • Maybe more landlords are willing to take dogs now than they were 2 years ago. Getting the dog here was more stressful than everything else put together. Make very, very sure you have the right size crate, the correct vaccinations and paperwork.  I highly recommend using Jose from Golden Frog, and having him drive you and your pets right through to Boquete. I thought it was expensive at the time, but he got us through Tocumen and out to the van in good time. A lot has been written about bringing pets here. Check the search. Our dog never had fleas or ticks in Phoenix but was covered in fleas after about 2 weeks here, so have some Frontline or something else handy!

  • Hopefully won't be a problem to rent. We also have a small young teacup. Hopefully won't be a problem. I've seen several pet friendly advertisements. What do you think?
  • She's one of the family, lol, oh and of course she's well behaved and 7 already
  • Are you bringing your dog with you? We have a Malinois. Not many people who rent want you to have a big dog, but I think it is an asset if it is trained.
