The technique of cloisonné enamels: on the base of metal sheet (gold, fine silver) you place your design with fine wires - you are creating cells = cloisonné. Those cells you fill with powdered glass = enamels . I only use transparent enamels - starting with the darker colors and come up with lighter colors. Each layer of enamel gets fired in the kiln at 1500 F, it melts and combines with the metal. I put on about 8 layers, each layer gets fired separate. Afterwards you stone and polish the enamel. The result is a durable precious piece of jewelry.
