HEALTH CHALLENGE UPDATE: 45 DAYS ON A VEGETARIAN DIET

HI ALL,

Here I am 45 days into my vegetarian diet. I can honestly say that I have been eating 95% vegan while sticking to Fruits, Vegetables and having cut out almost all cheese and eggs at this point. The only time that I eat cheese has been when it is Feta cheese on a large salad, the occasional hard boiled egg and some cream in my coffee are the only animal based products on my menu.

I have kept up my schedule at the gym and put in a minimum of 3 – 45 minutes workouts a week. My energy levels and my strength are at high levels. Sleep has been great unless I decide to eat a huge salad close to bed time… That will have me waking up 2 – 3 times for a bathroom trip. No body pain, recovery is quick, and I am down 15+ pounds!

I am not craving meat but actually find myself craving Fruit now! This is fairly new to me to be craving fruit and vegetables instead of a sweet or a pasta. I am quite happy with the results and I hate to call it a diet even though these changes are 100% about my diet. I am not watching calories, I love the coconut milk based spicy curries filled with vegetables that I bought the same day, Pizza night once a week and a giant organic salad almost every day!  Add a bit of dark chocolate every night and I ask myself…What’s to miss??

STARTING WEIGHT: 92KG OR 202.40 LBS

TODAYS WEIGHT: 85.1 KG OR 187.22 LBS

A WEIGHT LOSS OF: 6.9 KG OR 15.18 LBS

These are great results and really so easy! I have been researching the benefits of a plant based diet and I will continue this lifestyle change. The health benefits are off the charts and I plan to be part of that group!
