Steve, the new gringo (Alabama boy) manager at Value Motors repair shop, is awesome.  Not only does he have many years of experience and knows what he is talking about when it comes to repairs, he goes the extra mile to make sure your experience is a good one.  I have referred others to him and they are loving him too.  In the world of "manana land" it is nice to deal with someone reliable and trustworthy.

Hi Marie,

That is terrible that you lost your pension check.  My previous employer asked me if I wanted the retirement check mailed or direct deposit into my bank account.  I chose to have my checks directly deposited which is faster & secure.  Hope your check eventually showed up.

Regarding Ecuador vs Panama (or Cuenca vs Boquete).   I lived in Boquete for 3 years and then moved to Cuenca for over a year.  I returned to Boquete, never again to stray.  If you would like to know why I chose Boquete over Cuenca, after living in both places, go to my blog article which answers those questions.
