"I am planning on moving to Boquete in 2022 or 2023 & would like to join a guild when I get there. I live in Iowa now & I am avid quilter & hope to buy a long arm for when I get there. I plan to bring my quilting supplies with me as well as my 3…"
hola cassandra ~ a friend just sent me an email stating a store in david, novey, has many canning jars. a couple months ago, i did pick up several myself. i would still recommend bringing a couple/three cases yourself. seriously, any favorite kitchen / person / household items you have now....put them in the container. no regrets....no wasted space. don't bring as many clothes & shoes & accessories & such as you think you will need....i brought too many & have given most away. do bring good linens, bedding & towels....the quality here is pretty awful. i had found two sets of king sheets when we first moved here which are really wonderful however that is not the general rule. same with bath & kitchen towels. bring your favorite pillows, throw blankets, bedspreads. if you use partial (dental) cleaner....bring it....so far i have not seen any here. you are a sewer....bring fray check; i have not found it yet here in boquete but have not looked in david. thread....bring it. although the thread they sell here is pretty good, the spools are (100 y) small & tall & wobble on the machine's spindle....but it is plentiful. i do miss 'coats & clark'. straight pins are sketchy here also...bring plenty. hope this helps. let me know if you want me to do anymore brainstorming. we've been here 2.5+ years & still ship in a lot of items we cannot find here. do you have pets?
hello cassandra ~ i don't really can anything...just like canning jars for food storage. such as broths, etc. if you are bringing a container anyway, bring your stuff. canning jars are hit or miss here as with all other things. it is getting better & better each month, but what the heck...have it....bring it. are you bringing a container?
