What Attracts you to Boquete?
Experiencing life in and around Boquete and becoming a productive part of the community - and oh yes, to enjoy living in a climate and an atmosphere conducive to what I feel may be the answer to my search in seeking the most idyllic place to live for the rest of my life. To add - I enjoy any and all outdoor activities and look forward to meeting new people and participating in the many opportunities I am discovering, that are available in Panama. Hope to see you all soon, in the next few months.

I responded. Not sure where it went. So, I'll try again. Good news about you and your son/family getting to move into your new home this summer. I am arriving in P.C. this coming Wed. and will depart immediately to Boquette as soon as I obtain the release of my 2 dogs. I'm sure I'll see/meet all of you guys at some point in time, in or around Boquette. Take care.
Dave
When was the last time you were in Boquete? When will you be there again? My son and I will be relocated there when our house is ready this summer. My attraction to Boquete is just like yours.Hope to meet you one day.
Thanks so much for responding. To get to the point - I would like to rent a min. 2 bedroom (3 or more would not be a problem), house/villa with a fenced-in yard (or fenced-in area) as I will have my 2 (well-trained, well-mannered) female labrador retrievers (and just myself) - and will be happy to include a "pet deposit". I would prefer to be outside and above (for the views), Boquete in a quiet area (not too far from the town, allowing me to experience the area and to look for property. I will need cable or satellite access for my computer (and for television). I would also like some type of phone service. Not sure how things work there, but I have rented places in the Caribbean for the summer that also included a vehicle (extra charge understandably). I have also read about water shortage in some areas, in and around Boquete. Would like to be assured that, that won't be a problem. The amount of rent I expect to pay, would naturally be commensurate with the quality of the dwelling. My budget dictates a range of $1,000 - $1500 per month, including utilities, etc. I may stretch that somewhat if the quality justifies the amount. I was hoping to arrive sometime around the 1st of June and to stay as long as the tourist card allows. On that note, I have read about different experiences with regards to obtaining 30 day & 90 day tourist cards. It seems as though if you request a 90 day tourist card, it will more than likely be granted. One source states that the rule has changed and they are now valid for 90 days (from the book, "Choose Panama" by William Hutchings). My intent is to visit with plans to seek either temporary or permanent residency status. In saying this, I may seek, if possible, back to back tourist cards (possibly having to fly out to Costa Rica after the first 90 days for a few days and then return after the required wait of 3 or 4 days, resuming my occupancy of the same residence, i.e. no break in rent for the 2nd 90 days, allowing me up to a total of 180 days to establish residency). Can you advise (or help) in this matter(?) - if not, to direct me to someone who can help with the part that you may not be able to assist with? My email address is davedwfernandez@yahoo.com (or tundra@safe-mail.net). If you would prefer to speak with me on the phone, please let me know in an email and either I can call you or will be more than happy to give you my phone number (in a reply email), if you prefer to call me. Thank you very much for responding and hoping you will be able to assist me in obtaining temporary accomodations for my visit (and any other assistance in helping in my quest to relocate to the Boquete area). Take care.
Dave
