We're looking for a fully furnished 4bd / 2bath+ house for 12mths initially, preferably fenced or walled in...a house that would allow for a pet or two later on. Something with a nice lawn would be great, a terrace perhaps ( we like to BBQ)...and we tend to lean more towards spacious, newer and modern properties with good finishes and fixtures.
High speed and consistent internet is a MUST, preferably Fibre cable if possible (50mb/s minimum, upgradable?) ...otherwise any other decent internet that would allow for good streaming (Netflix etc) and keeping Xbox1 gamers happy. Those in the know will know what I mean when I say, I need "good ping!!" and very low latency if possible for the kids! LOL
Other than that, we don't want to be too far out in the sticks...although we LOVE nature, trees, great views but also value privacy. I just don't want to have to pack a lunch for a road-trip in order to get to town, if you know what I mean? Walking distance to local supermarket(s) for the basics (bread, milk etc) and local fruit & veg sidewalk vendors would be great as we do like a good stroll and would like to support local farmers.
Things we're NOT interested in?
1) Neighbors being able to look into my back yard or me into theirs when potting around the back yard. We're not hermits or anything, but do value a bit of privacy at home and having my morning coffee without being eyeballed.
2) I'm also not interested in places where houses are too closely stacked together or on top of each other...almost like flats or apartments, all looking the same wondering which one was yours again? We like a bit if individuality when it comes to long term stays...it's HOME after all.
3) Home must also NOT be close to any construction sites. I can appreciate development is inevitable. I was an active property speculator back home, undertook quite a few fixer-upper renovation projects personally...I’m very technical myself, but as a well-travelled family having lived in various countries for extended periods of time, we'd like to avoid active building sites too close to us. Nobody actually enjoys waking up to jackhammers or granite top cutting & grinding at 7am every day at times for weeks on end, right? LOL
4) Then a house that's NOT affected by some of the current water infrastructure expansion. I hear of many regions having water cut off at times, sometimes for up to a week, so would like to a avoid any regular water & electricity outages...other than those that unavoidably affects the whole city or region from time to time.
5) Rain water / surplus water tanks would be great.
OK, let me leave it at that for now...the rest on can usually see on photos and take it from there.
