Thanks for the responses for utility costs for Boquete. Some things I learned for sure: forget the landline phone idea and go with Magicjack or with Skype (already use it here) or both.
Now I need feedback on domestic help around the house. Specifically, cleaning (how often), laundry possibilities, cooking, other chores. We are not interested in a live in at this time but someone we could get on a regular schedule (weekly?, twice a week? etc.). What are the expected costs.
What have been your experiences in this area. You can reply here or to us directly at rcole12@pacbell.net.

Hi...I have a friend who speaks Spanglish and is looking for work. She is a real sweety and works hard. Her name is Stefanny Pitty and she lives in Jaramillo. Her number is 6441 5004. She is very honest...you can trust this one.
When I arrived here the rate was $8 a day on Jaramillo, now some people here pay three times that. Why, because some people felt the need to offer more and only a fool would say no. There are house keepers in Boquete working for Gringos who earn more than bank managers in town.
Currently I pay $10 for a house cleaning regardless of the time spent, although it is usually only about 4 hours. The issue as everyplace, is supply and demand. Currently, here on Jaramillo, the demand exceeds the supply of people willing to clean houses.
I cannot speak to other areas.
