I am not a frequent user of Ning (I think this is my first real topic to be posted), so if I am doing this incorrectly, please forgive me. I write this because there are only two categories (events and news), and this posting is neither.
I am wondering how to go about finding good, reliable people to work as domestic help, meaning housekeeping and gardening. Any suggestions and/or referrals of such resources would be appreciated.

Hi...I have a friend who speaks Spanglish and is looking for work. She is a real sweety and works hard. Her name is Stefanny Pitty and she lives in Jaramillo. Her number is 6441 5004. She is very honest...you can trust this one.
Hi Bud,
I suspect that most folks want fulltime well paid work. Offer your help 1.5 times the minimum wage, which is still not a living wage. Pay their social security, holidays, vacation, decimo and all fees that are legally required. Give them a bonus and a small gift at Christmas. Treat them like individuals, respect and dignity. Be patient and teach them what you want them to do.
Do that and will not only have little trouble finding good workers but they will work for you for a long time.

Are you looking for a one-day-a-week gardener, or full time? I believe my gardener is looking for another day's work per week, but I think it will depend on where you live. He lives near El Santuario on the north side of Boquete. He is a Ngobe and speaks some English, and he tries to learn a few more words every week. He can make himself understood. He is EXTREMELY reliable, and has never let us down in over a year. He will be at our house tomorrow. If you are interested email me at pandmpilson at gmail . com
Talk to your friends and neighbors. See who they use.
Tried that. Those resources are already fully committed, and thus not available for my home.
Other suggestions?
I'm looking too
I've posted ads all over town, asked everyone I speak to. No Luck.
Also can;t find anyone to repair my gas stove oven. Over a month now.
Carol: I use Panagas and when I had a problem with my gas stove I asked the Panagas driver if he could take a look at it. He did, spotted the problem and fixed it. He didn't ask for anything but I gave him a few dollars for him to by himself and his crew lunch. It doesn't hurt to ask.

There is a repairman that works at Panafoto that will come to your house to repair your oven.
