Lee Zeltzer, a community fixture, founder of boquete.ning and Boquete Guide, has passed away at his home in Jaramillo.Lee and I both landed in Boquete about the same time, and although we were never the closest of friends, we were always the best of acquaintances. I will miss him deeply, as will our community. My sincerest condolences to Myrna, and his family.

I did not have the chance to meet Lee in person, but read his postings. I have bought coffee from him since 2012 and got spot on perfect recommendations for my recent trip to Boquete. He was a great help to me and a wonderful ambassador for the region.

WOW! so sad to hear this...happened while I was in Europe and no access to .ning.....had planned to see Lee sept 15....He was a great guy, many times helped me out and I saw him on every trip I made to Boquete...he will be missed in my heart! RIP Lee, ...you are missed by many!
Absolutely SHOCKED... is the only way I can describe what I felt upon learning of Lee's passing.
I've been very negligent about checking in here... which is why I didn't learn of this until almost a month later.
I'd known Lee since 1997 when I was in Denver and he was in Tucson... then I eventually also moved to Tucson.
I'd been to Lee's home in Tucson on various occasions and had also visited him downtown due to our mutual business interests. We also met at various functions in places like Las Vegas and New Orleans. I knew his "then-wife", Jennifer.
I'd always known Lee to be a man of principles and integrity, along with his being a great communicator and an ambassador of whatever cause he believed in. We hadn't been in close touch with each other during the past few years.. just exchanging occasional emails and/or text messages.
Lee was about ten years younger than I... and I'm still numb from the effect of this news.
I will miss you, Lee.. and shall always treasure the times we shared.
We are in Boquete only 4 months each year, but we knew Lee and liked and respected him a lot. We also appreciated what he did for Boquete. We will miss seeing him when we return in February.
I just today saw this. I'm so very sorry and my condolences to his family and close friends. Lee was always personally very helpful when I lived in Boquete. I always turned to him for any expert advice of a general nature that pertained to an ex-pat. A tremendous loss to the community. What was his cause of death?
