I am opening a second and/or a third group for those interested in learning Spanish. For those who don't know me, My name is Marcela Barraza and I am from Panama City. I moved here with my soon to be husband last year because he is from England and there is a lot of English speaking population here in Boquete. We have made wonderful friends here and we love this area. I never thought this place would be so pleasant. I have a graduate education from the University of Texas at Austin, although my major is accounting and not Spanish. However, I grew up in Spanish speaking schools in which we were taught a very strong grammatical foundation. That together with my English education in the Sates makes me qualified to teach Spanish to all English speaking audiences.
If you are interested in beginning a Spanish class, I propose Mondays or Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. If you can't make it at that time, you could propose another time to see if I can schedule it in. I can teach private classes, or a group.
The prices are $5 per person per class for a group of four to six people, or $10 per person per class for a group of two to three people. Individual or private classes are $15. Usually the classes are about an hour to an hour and a half depending on the amount of people in the class. Really I go by the material to be covered and the speed in which the students learn, rather that concentrating on a specified ending time. I try to start on time, however, sometimes between the time the students get here, and we greet each other and begin, it could take us up to about five minutes.
I recently moved to Volcancito so I am able to offer more classes either at my home or if you already have a group and prefer to meet elsewhere is fine with me too.
