When I lived in Ecuador (23 years ago), the water was not safe to drink. Many people drank bottled water from a spring in Quito called "Guitig." It was said to be naturally carbonated. I loved the stuff and now I drink sparkling water from Arrowhead. The tap water in Denver is safe to drink and I understand the tap water in Boquete is safe to drink, but I prefer the fizzy stuff. Is fizzy water available in Panama?

When consumed in moderation, sparkling water is good for your kidneys since it leads you to get rid of toxins in the body.
Thanks everyone. The price of San Pellegrino is not as bad as it is here.
Other than Perrier, which is quite expensive, sparkling water is hard to find. Super Baru in David carries a brand called Zephyrhills sparkling spring water. Label says it's a Nestle company. 70 cents for 16.9 fluid ounces - about half the price of Perrier.
San Pellegrino at Felipe Motta
1 Litre bottles of San Pellegrino at El Rey, @ about $1.40. Also a big fan of non-alcoholic Cerezer sparkling peach cider, 1 litre @ $2.99. There are other flavors.
Perrier at PriceSmart.
