This and some of the ground-truth accounts and descriptions may indicate that the activity is magmatic ( i.e., volcanic ) rather than tectonic ( plate shifts ). Several years ago ( 2006 ) Boquete experienced experienced volcanic swarms due to activity at Baru for several weeks that eventually subsided.

In lower Volcancito, loud rumble and then shaking. My floor lamp rocked back and forth like a metronome after shaking stopped.
