Hey, Friends,
I'm not a chimney, but I am one of those folks who continues to enjoy cigarettes.
Today in Romero's they've removed all the cigarette bins and the cashiers have to fumble through lap drawers to find a brand. If that drawer doesn't have what I'm looking for they have to have someone go hunting in the other drawers. This of course makes everyone in line wait on me. Is there ANYWHERE in Boquete, or within a reasonable distance, that I can actually buy cigarettes with out a complete hassle? It would also be nice not to have to pay a bunch of import taxes/duties for a US brand when there are plenty of other good brands made.

So tobacco now in Panama is the new heroin? Nice. What happened to freedom? My advice: score some weed from the fruteros who ply your barriada in their beat-up pickups and loudspeakers, extract the seeds, grow some weed, dry the leaves, roll your own, and f-k the establishment!

Brilliant - just brilliant...
most chinese minisupers sell cigarettes, as does the little Deli Baru, la Licoreria next to the gas station at the entrance of Boquete. But the new law says that cigarettes have to be hidden, there is no way to know what brands are available.
