we heard from a friend that Boquete has lost whatever level of certification it had on the city water.
we use an excellent water filter system (Blue Stone) that has kept us in safe and healthy drinking water.
But we have used city water for dish washing and non-swallowed tooth brushing. Does anyone know about this lost certification issue and the current water sanitation?
BTW, we are moving back to the U.S. and selling our Blue Stone if anyone is interested.

Hi Julia, our water filter just broke, is yours still available?
Sorry but it is sold.
Ok thanks.
I must be missing something on this one. The water arriving in Boquete is probably the cleanest vs. where ever else you might have lived, coming down from the mountains and naturally filtrated (just like bottled water) through its path down the river. It will gain undesired gunge on the way down the various tubes to the house but one or two filters that can be purchased at any ferreteria added into the tube before entering your house will take that out. Personally I’ve never had cause or need for anything more.
Thanks
Yes we had one in Cuba And it worked like a charm.
We might be interested in your water filter. How much are you asking? And can you give me more information about the filter system? We are just moving into Boquete to "try it out", and will be here for 3 months.
Donna
Hi Donna. Sure. We bought this filter when we moved into an apartment without adequately filtered drinking water and it has kept us parasite and contamination free for the 11months we have had it. You fill the top section with tap water and it is filtered first by a large ceramic filter. Then it runs through a cartridge of several additional filters. And it holds a lot. We paid $225 for it plus $75 for an additional set of filters just in case. We are asking $150 total, including the replacement filters we have not needed. I have attached a photo of the filter information from the box.
Thanks for the information! Could you send a photo of the actual device? How big is it? Do you install it, or is it a counter-top?
It is 23” tall. We have it sitting on a chrome shelf as you will see in the photo, though the Rabbi who sells them has his on a counter.
