Since it seems our water supply may be iffy for a while, I plan to install an additional reserve tank, re-plumb, and re-wire the system. Thinking I would like to have some monitoring in the house. Anyone have any suggestions or experiences to share? ..or controls you would add or delete? (apart from just calling Grupo Aguas) thanks in advance.

Hi Keith,
We also have the float system and lights. If you'd like to come over and see it feel free. We're home all afternoon. #66 Brisas-Lorrie & Bob
I bought the same float that shuts off your pump when the water level is low. You can reverse the settings so It will turn on a light if the water level drops. Instructions are on the package. I have mine set to turn on when the water drops 16 inches. Its is simple to set up.
hey keith, sent you an email, have not heard from you;. need to talk. sorry you have water issues. please take a minute and help us with this matter. thanks, beck y don
Haven't seen any emails from you or I would have responded. Please resend..
We had Grupo Aqua put in a float switch. A light comes on when a third of the tank water is gone.
Ron Wardell used to have a house in Brisas Boquetena where he had some kind of sensor at the tank and pump and an indicator light in his kitchen. I never looked at it. You can contact him at linda.wardell@yahoo.com.
If you get the info from Ron, I would like to know about it also. Bob G. rhgusn@gmail.com
we are in Brisas to. You get 2 Tanks, boquete shut the water of for a week, 3 Tanks, the water is not here for 4 weeks. I hope, You get the message
Where do you find the charcoal filters? I haven't seen them anywhere in over 2 years.
I would run a float switch, the kind that is a foam ball on the end of a cord, set at a level in the tank that will turn on a low voltage light in your house when the tank is full and turn off the light when the level is half full or less. You could use a piece of PVC in a block of cement inside your tank to connect the line for the switch. You can adjust the levels/heights by moving the level where the cord is connected to the pipe (with some pull ties) up or down. The length of the cord from the support pipe to the float switch will determine the "full light on" level and the half or lower level. This can be wired so the light comes on when low instead.
You can use also two of these float switches and two lights as well, one at the top for full and the other at the bottom for empty. or one just to show when its empty/too late. Most of these float switches are 3 wire switches so they can be wired to be closed on level rise or closed on level fall.
Aguas Chiriqui should be able to do this work. You will need some sensor wire, a 110/12 volt transformer and a 12 volt light for inside your house.
Good Luck
thanks Scott, Pat, Susan. Would you connect the tanks in series so that one tank fills and the other draws, or in parallel so that they fill and draw equally? (sorry ..electrician's mindset)
