Just out of curiosity, what is the average age of new expats when they come to Boquete?
And what is the average age of expats currently living in Boquete?
Some folks can retire at 50 and others wait to 80, so, with health insurance restrictions and medical care concerns (no0t to mention the recent thread on dying in Panama), I wanted to get the 'feel' of the expat community.

My birth certificate indicates that I was born in 1942 (and in the United States--I held the certificate up to the light).
Today I feel like I am 34 years old; last week, after a long trip from the states, I felt like I was 87 1/2 years old for several days..

(I think about dying (when I am feeling older) here in Panama and what the procedure would be for cremation; the cost is too prohibitive to ship this pudgy body back to the states.) Where do I find the information on 'dying in Panama' thread you mentioned?
Like they say, age is an attitude, not a number. Some of my expat neighbors are 75+, and are never home, they are off world-traveling. For the most part, the people who 'take the leap' and move countries are pretty adventurous, no matter what their age.
Having said that, I would guess the age of most people when they arrive to be around 60 - 65...
Not everyone here is retired, though probably most are. Some of us are still working for a living - just in a more relaxed manner.
