Has there been a report posted concerning a meeting scheduled last week between the police and Boquete AAC?
I would like to learn what was discussed.
Richard
Richard,
Perhaps you are thinking about the meeting AaC had with the commissioner a couple of months ago, which was reported to the community.
Since then, we have seen excellent cooperation with the local police (who rotate in and out) and very prompt response when the Hotline is called.
Just antidotal examples, but on Thursday when the Volcancito resident was assaulted, he called it in to the police himself (or had a friend call) and it took two days for them to show up. On Saturday, a resident reported suspicious activity to the Hotline and the police were there in minutes. During that time several other residents called the Holine to report suspicious activity and the police invariably arrived promptly.
Of course, there is no guarantee in any specific situation, but we know that the police value the fact that the Hotline screens calls and has access to precise directions from the Resident ID Database.
If you have a Resident ID and haven't done so already, please go to https://altoalcrimen.wildapricot.org log in and update your information. Pay special attention to the directions to your house - if they are unclear, the police won't be able to find you.
While you are there, consider upgrading to a Donor Membership and help support Alto al Crimen in the coming year. Remember, the amount you donate and the timing is up to you. One lump or once a month, your choice. Payments are received at Mailboxes Etc. in Boquete.
No, I was referring to a meeting scheduled for just last week.
From The Boquete Guide - TCM: Crime in Boquete, an insight
THis provided the feedback about the meeting I mentioned.
Thanks.

That was a meeting indeed but although AAC participated it was not a meeting called by AAC.
does this mean that none of us could be picked up by ambulance @ our homes if needed?
If an ambulance is available, they will come. If not, not, but NEVER count on an ambulance here if you have another option.
We do not have a unified 911 service in Boquete, MINSA, CASA de Seguro Social and the Bomberos all have ambulances but no unified dispatch. If the one you call is not available it will not come. This is a small town with extremely limited resources. You need to have your own emergency plans in place to get to a hospital. I know my neighbors and they know me, in an emergency I would call them rather than waiting for an ambulance here.
